Delivery & installation
Delivery and installation of your high-speed door
Your high-speed door is made to measure and delivered direct from the factory by freight forwarder to your site anywhere in Europe. Installation and commissioning are carried out by a competent installer of your choice – your in-house maintenance team or a local door company.
High-speed door delivery: direct from the factory by freight forwarder
We supply high-speed doors as a pure delivery: each door is built to your approved dimensions and shipped by freight forwarder from the factory to the address you specify – your premises, a construction site or your installer's depot. There is no intermediate storage, and we do not install the door ourselves.
The model suits companies with competent in-house maintenance staff or an installer they already work with, as well as installers and dealers ordering for their customers – see high-speed doors for installers and dealers.
What is delivered: the complete door as configured
You receive the complete high-speed door in the specification set out in the quotation and the dimension approval – not a kit of parts, but a door designed for your opening with all the components that installation and operation require.
- Door body: frame and guide rails in galvanised steel, powder-coated steel or stainless steel, plus the curtain of your choice – standard PVC, with vision panels, insulated or for freezer applications
- Drive and control: door drive, optionally with frequency inverter and emergency opening, and a control unit with operating elements
- Safety and activation: the configured components such as light curtain, safety edge, radar motion detector, induction loop, traffic lights or radio remote control
- Documents: installation and operating instructions as the basis for installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance
- Conformity: declaration of performance and CE marking to the product standard EN 13241
From enquiry to delivery in five steps
Every high-speed door goes through five steps from the first enquiry to delivery. Production starts only once dimensions and specification have been approved in writing – this protects you against incorrect orders for a door that fits only this one opening.
- Enquiry: you put together door type, dimensions, curtain, drive and accessories in the configurator. Approximate dimensions are enough to start.
- Quotation: you receive a quotation with specification, scope of supply and delivery terms. Technical questions about headroom, side room, wind load or the installation situation are clarified at this stage.
- Dimension approval: before production, the exact dimensions are confirmed – clear width, clear height, headroom and side room on the left and right. Typical sizes are shown on the page high-speed door sizes.
- Production: the door is manufactured to the approved dimensions and options.
- Delivery: the door arrives packed for transport by freight forwarder at the agreed address. Delivery date and unloading are agreed in advance.
Lead time and shipping
We state the lead time for your configuration on request, because it depends on door type, size and special equipment such as a high wind resistance class, insulation or a stainless steel frame. Shipping is direct from the factory to the agreed address across Europe; the delivery terms are stated in the quotation. For your scheduling, an early dimension approval and a site that is ready on the delivery date matter most.
Installing a high-speed door: requirements for your installer
Installation, electrical connection and commissioning are carried out by a competent installer of your choice – your in-house maintenance team, a door company or a steel fabricator with experience of power-operated doors. Installing a high-speed door without specialist knowledge is not intended: it is a power-operated door with safety functions and an electrical connection, and errors in fixing, alignment or adjustment endanger people and can impair the characteristics stated in the declaration of performance.
Your installer should therefore meet these requirements:
- Expertise: experience in installing and adjusting power-operated doors, including the safety devices to EN 12453
- Qualified electrician: connection of drive and control unit by a qualified electrician only
- Installation to instructions: fixing, alignment of the guides, end positions and safety functions exactly as described in the installation instructions supplied, without structural modifications
- Equipment: mobile elevating work platform or lifting equipment, and fixings suited to the substrate – concrete, masonry, steel or panel
- Completion: commissioning, inspection before first use, operator training and handover of the documents to the operator

Configure nowPreparing the site before delivery
A prepared opening is the most important precondition for smooth installation. Check these points before the delivery date:
- Opening: the clear dimensions match the dimension approval, and the reveals are load-bearing and largely plumb.
- Headroom: above the opening there is space for shaft and drive, typically around 400 to 650 mm depending on the system, measured to the lowest obstruction.
- Side room: there is space for the guide rails on the left and right, usually slightly more on the drive side. Keep an eye on columns, racking and pipework.
- Floor: level and load-bearing in the area of the bottom seal; plan cuts for induction loops in advance.
- Power supply: supply cable with suitable fuse protection at the agreed location, plus conduits to push buttons, traffic lights and sensors.
- Access and unloading: access for the lorry, unloading equipment such as a forklift with sufficiently long forks or a crane, and a dry storage area until installation.
- Work area: space in front of and beside the opening cleared, room for the access platform, coordination with ongoing operations.
Commissioning automatic doors: inspection before first use
Commissioning includes setting the end positions, speeds and sensors, testing all safety functions including the emergency opening, and training the operators. Before first use, the door is inspected by a competent person. Commissioning and periodic inspection are carried out according to the manufacturer's instructions and the national workplace regulations in the country of installation.
The European standards apply in every country: the product standard EN 13241, the safety requirements for power-operated doors in EN 12453 and the rules on installation and use in EN 12635. The type and frequency of inspections during operation are set nationally. The operator is responsible for inspection and documentation; record every inspection in the logbook with date, inspector, result and any defects.
Maintenance by your installer or a local service provider
We supply the door, but we do not offer installation, maintenance or repair services. For periodic inspection and maintenance, appoint a specialist company – for example your installer or a maintenance provider close to your site. The intervals follow the manufacturer's instructions and the national regulations; doors with high cycle counts usually need more frequent servicing.
Spare parts for doors we have supplied are available on request. Quote the order details, dimensions and the component concerned, ideally with a photo, so that the part can be identified reliably.
Who does what: division of responsibilities
The roles are clearly separated: we supply the made-to-measure door with its documents from the factory, while you and your installer are responsible for everything that happens on site. The table shows the typical division of tasks; the quotation is binding.
| Task | Us (supplier) | You / your installer |
|---|---|---|
| Made-to-measure door with drive, control unit and safety devices | included | – |
| Delivery from the factory by freight forwarder | included | access and unloading on site |
| Installation and operating instructions, declaration of performance, CE marking | included | handover to the operator |
| Survey and dimension check on site | queries during technical clarification | your installer |
| Installation of frame, shaft, curtain and drive | – | your installer |
| Supply cable with fuse protection to the connection point | – | you |
| Electrical connection of the control unit | – | qualified electrician |
| Adjustment, commissioning, operator training | – | your installer |

Frequently asked questions
What is included in the delivery of a high-speed door?
You receive the complete door as configured: frame, guide rails, curtain, drive, control unit and the selected safety devices. It comes with installation and operating instructions plus the declaration of performance and CE marking to EN 13241.
Do you deliver high-speed doors across Europe?
Yes, doors are delivered across Europe direct from the factory by freight forwarder. Installation is carried out locally by a competent installer, who is also responsible for commissioning and inspection according to the regulations of the country concerned.
Who installs the high-speed door?
Your own competent installer – in-house maintenance staff, a door company or a steel fabricator with experience of power-operated doors. We supply the door only and do not carry out installation.
Can I install a high-speed door myself?
Only with specialist knowledge of power-operated doors. Installation follows the installation instructions, the electrical connection is made by a qualified electrician, and a competent person inspects the door before first use. Without these skills, appoint a local door company.
How long does delivery of a high-speed door take?
We state the lead time on request for your configuration, because it depends on door type, size and special equipment. An early dimension approval and a prepared site keep the process short.
Who unloads the door on delivery?
This is agreed before the delivery date. Plan access for the lorry, suitable unloading equipment such as a forklift with sufficiently long forks, and a dry storage area until installation.
How is an automatic door commissioned?
End positions, speeds and sensors are set, all safety functions including the emergency opening are tested and the operators are trained. Before first use, a competent person inspects the door according to the manufacturer's instructions and the national workplace regulations, and the result is recorded in the logbook.
Who carries out maintenance and repairs?
A specialist company appointed by the operator, for example your installer or a local maintenance provider. We do not offer maintenance contracts, but spare parts for doors we have supplied are available on request.
